2. Babbo
This establishment proved to be an excellent choice for a sophisticated and elegant dinner experience.
Accompanied by my colleagues from work, we were promptly seated at our reserved table within a mere 5 minutes.
To start off the evening, I opted for the Red Snapper Crudo as an appetizer, which was expertly seasoned and boasted a delightful hint of vinegar.
Moving on to the main course, I indulged in the pear ravioli, which arrived in a generous portion of 8 pieces.
The ravioli had a mild and pleasing sweetness, perfectly complemented by a luscious butter coating.
For dessert, I savored the olive oil cake and gelato, although the flavors were not as robust as I had hoped.
Nevertheless, the overall dining experience was met with satisfaction, as everyone at my table thoroughly enjoyed their meals.
3.Uva
The expansive outdoor seating area at the back of the UVA is particularly noteworthy, offering ample space for relaxation and enjoyment, especially during the warm summer months.
It provides a perfect setting for individuals to unwind and socialize in a picturesque setting.
4.Becco
Moving on to the main course, the Sinfonia di Paste was a true masterpiece that exceeded all expectations.
The option to choose between Insalata Cesare or Antipasto, with the opportunity to upgrade to the Insalata Mista, added a personalized touch to the meal.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the table-side service of the Three Daily Pasta Preparations by Executive Chef William Gallagher, which elevated the dining experience to a whole new level of excellence.
5.L and B Spumoni Gardens
Beyond being a mere pizzeria, it embodies a rich history that traces back to 1918 when the founder kickstarted pizza sales from a horse-drawn wagon, akin to the modern-day food trucks.
By 1939, the founder made a permanent mark by purchasing property in Brooklyn to launch a spumoni factory.
For the uninitiated, spumoni is an Italian dessert featuring layers of chocolate, vanilla, and pistachio ice cream—a winning combination of flavors that captured the neighborhood’s attention.
With the surge in popularity of his pizza and spumoni, he decided to expand his establishment by creating an outdoor seating area, which ultimately became a hub for the community.
The progression continued, and in 1950, he constructed a pizza shop that would serve the now-renowned Sicilian pizza. This culinary masterpiece consisted of a unique dough known as the mother dough (masa madre), which was thick, spongy, and possessed a cloud-like texture.
The dough was layered with mozzarella, followed by a generous amount of tomato sauce and a sprinkling of Parmesan after it emerged from the oven.
The sight of these piping hot, sizzling pies being cut into squares with a knife as you approached the front of the line only heightened the anticipation of the delectable experience that awaited you.
While all the slices offered a delightful combination of crispy and chewy textures, I always made sure to request those extra crispy corner slices.
The enduring popularity of L&B is evident in the long line of customers, reminiscent of the past when locals eagerly waited at the original wagon.
I am always willing to wait in line at L&B, knowing that the delicious pizza is worth it.

6.Tony’s Di Napoli
With its expansive layout, this restaurant is perfect for families seeking a spacious dining experience.
Our group of three decided to order four dishes, resulting in an abundance of leftovers. In retrospect, it would have been more prudent to opt for half portions.
Rigatoni Ala vodka stood out as my favorite dish.
The sauce was incredibly tasty, and the balance between sauce and pasta was perfect. It was the only dish we managed to finish completely because of its exceptional flavor.
The vodka sauce was one of the best I’ve ever tasted, and the mushrooms added a nice touch (we ordered them on the side for those who preferred not to have them).
Despite the flounder being completely sold out by the end of the night, I found the overall taste to be mediocre.
The fish was pan fried, but there was nothing particularly noteworthy about its flavor.
This experience made me realize that I prefer my flounder to be steamed or cooked without breading, as the pan frying method seemed to mask the fish’s inherent flavor.
7.Trattoria Trecolori
Indulge in our meticulously crafted menu, which includes a wide array of fresh, homemade pastas, delectable seafood, tender veal, homemade mozzarella, and a selection of homemade sauces.
Be sure to check out our daily and weekly specials, which highlight seasonal ingredients.
Our wine list is top-notch, featuring exceptional wines, craft beers, seasonal beverages, and specialty cocktails.
And of course, our homemade desserts are always a crowd-pleaser!
In 1991, the story of Trattoria Trecolori began with Joaquin L. Gonzalez, also known as “Jack,” launching the first establishment on East 53rd Street as Trecolori.
By December 1993, the restaurant had shifted to a more central location in the Theatre District on West 45th Street, adopting the name Trattoria Trecolori.
It was at this juncture that the restaurant truly cemented its relationship with customers, offering authentic Italian cuisine accompanied by unparalleled service at affordable rates.
Patrons were particularly impressed by the exceptional service provided by “il patrone” Jack and his sons Marco and Victor.
Despite the unfortunate passing of Jack in 2001, his sons Marco, Victor, and Phil have taken pride in carrying forward the family business.
On May 8th, the restaurant made a significant move to a larger space at 254 W. 47th St, near Times Square, with meticulous attention to decor, menu offerings, and wine selections.
Fortunately, the dedicated team of staff members returned to ensure that the high standards of service were maintained at the new location.

8.L’Artusi
Upon my first visit to L’Artusi approximately a year ago, I found it quite enjoyable. However, upon returning yesterday, I must say that I absolutely adored it!
My reason for choosing this restaurant was to treat my mother, who was in town for my graduation, to a special dining experience featuring delectable pasta dishes, as she has a great fondness for Italian cuisine.
L’Artusi did not disappoint in the slightest! Despite a brief wait for our table to be prepared upon our punctual arrival at 7:30pm on a Wednesday, the service was remarkably swift and efficient, compensating for the slight delay.
The staff attending to us was exceptionally courteous, accommodating, and attentive to our needs– truly impressive!
Moreover, we did not feel rushed during our meal, allowing us to savor every moment.
This time, we were seated on the upper level of the restaurant, which I found preferable due to its relatively quieter ambiance compared to the main floor (although it was still quite lively) As for the food, I decided to try:
